NEW KEEPERS OF THE WATER TOWERS - New Album Details

New Keepers Of The Water Towers is doom/stoner/progressive metal band coming from Stockholm (Sweden). The band was formed in 2006 and since then released two studio albums through cult label MeteorCity. Now the band is ready to unleash their third studio full lenght conceptual album Cosmic Child which will be released via Listenable Records early in 2013. Band comments: "It is our most ambitious work yet. 47 minutes filled with dark but majestic melodies, psychedelic passages and a doomy groove. Some have gone to the lengths of calling it “Dark side of the Doom” (With reference to Pink Floyds legendary album with a similar title) and I guess our influences from early 70s progressive music has started to shine through the carpet of distortion. For the past year and a half we have been working in and out of the studio on this, our third, album. It's been a long process of developing and enriching our music with more genre defying sounds, dark lyrics about life and death, a lot of experimenting with musical directions and tinkering with richer harmonic arrangements. To put it bluntly, we've been recording an epic. None of us have ever put this much effort and emotion in to a piece of music so it means a lot to us and now that we are in the final steps of recording we feel very proud of what we have accomplished and I don't think there is any doubt in our minds that we have succeeded in creating the album we set out to record.” The new addition to the band was Björn Andersson on bass and now as the line up is complete the band started booking shows around the world.
